What I Do as Your School Board Member
The role of the school board is simple but powerful: we set the what—the vision, values, priorities, policies, and budgets that guide CMS. The superintendent and her team determine the how—the day-to-day operations and strategies to make it happen.
As a board member, my job is to represent the vision and values of our community, ensure the “what” reflects the needs of students, families, and teachers, and hold leadership accountable for delivering results. That means asking tough questions, setting clear priorities, and making sure taxpayer dollars are used wisely.
Every vote I take is about setting the right “what” so our schools can succeed in the “how.”

A Record of Service, A Vision for the Future
Public education is personal to me. I’ve been a teacher for 19 years, a CMS parent, and now a board member who shows up every day to fight for students, families, and educators. I know what it’s like to teach in underfunded classrooms, to raise children in this system, and to push for change when the odds feel stacked against us.
This page is where I lay out my vision, my record, and my commitments for the future. You’ll see the progress we’ve made together, the tough questions I’ve asked, and the priorities I will continue to fight for if reelected. My promise is simple: every decision I make comes back to one question—is this what’s best for our kids?
Your Questions, My Answers
I believe in transparency, and that starts with giving clear, honest answers to the questions families, educators, and community members ask me most. This FAQ is designed to give you straight answers about who I am, why I serve, and how I approach the work of the school board. If you don’t see your question here, reach out—I’m always open to listening and learning from our community.
